Tokyo Babylon OVA was originally released as a two part series, part one coming out in 1992, and part 2 in 1994. Later, in 1995, they were combined into one DVD. The story comes from the popular CLAMP series by the same name, which began to be printed in 1991.

The title comes from a song by Mission UK called 'Deliverance.' It just reminds me, both in sound and lyrics, of Tokyo Babylon:
